Five best ways to stay fit

How can you be fit throughout your life? This is a question all of us probably ask ourselves each single day of our lives. We love the lazy side of life, for instance; partying, drinking, relaxing and not sweating, but the funny part is, we have the extra fat that comes with the pleasures of life. So, how can we have all that and still be fit? How can we get away with the other side of life and still look fit and healthy? Well, we have the answers right here! Below are five ways to stay fit no matter your age, gender or occupation.

How to stay fit

Create an exercise routine

One thing that keeps us from staying fit is not committing ourselves to working out. One sure way of losing weight or maintaining the fit body you already have is creating an exercising routine and be committed to it. We all lead busy lives, but sparing an hour each morning or evening to jog, run around the neighborhood or on a treadmill can do great wonders especially if done consistently. Some of us are fortunate enough to own gyms in our own homes! Why not make a good use of your gym? An hour of intense cardio, weight lifting or stretching each day can help you keep fit in the long run. If you have not been in a gym, why not make it a habit

Get out of your comfort zone

What does this mean? Getting out of your comfort zone means doing the things you wouldn’t have done in your life like choosing to leave your car at home once in a while and walking to the mall, job or school instead. Or, taking the stairs instead of taking the lift and involving yourself in various activities during holidays instead of eating and sleeping. We normally overlook these very little things but when incorporated in our daily lives can help us shed a few pounds. Being fit for the rest of your life means being active and how can you achieve that if you cannot challenge yourself once, maybe twice or thrice a week? So, get your body moving no matter what.

Be friends with fit freaks

Heard of a saying that your friends can tell people who you are? That is true! If you want to be fit and you spend almost 90% of your day laying on the couch eating potato chips with a group of unfit buddies who have no plans of hitting the gym anytime soon, you will be fat in a matter of weeks or months. That is painful, but it is true. Try to balance your friends, of course, we cannot avoid everyone who is not living up to our goal, but we can plan and limit certain privileges that add nothing to our goal of being fit. Spend the larger part of your week with people who inspire you to be what you want. Try to hang around like-minded people, and you will be fit for life.

Watch your diet

You are what you eat. Choose foods that are healthy and your body will thank you for it. Fruits and veggies, lean protein and whole grains will do a great deal to your body. Make sure you get a balanced diet each day from different food groups. Eliminate anything that has no value to your health like unnecessary sugars, processed foods, and fatty foods. A cheat day is OK, but a week-long of junk food will get you nowhere. So, eat right and feel healthy all your life!

Live a healthy lifestyle

Getting enough sleep, drinking plenty of water and living a healthy lifestyle like not smoking can keep you alive; long enough to enjoy your fit body. Drinking lots of beers, smoking and staying up late at night partying each night will not give you a healthy body. Being fit means being healthy all around. You cannot achieve one and lose the other. They walk hand in hand. So, learn to balance your life. Have limits.

We can enjoy life and still be fit, what matters is what you do with your day!
